We all know that fall is the time for layers. Whether you are layering on a poncho or you are layering on a cloak, I think that you absolutely need to have some layers in your collection if you are going to do a fall collection. That is exactly what A.F. Vandevorst did in his most recent 2010 fall collection that was showed just a few weeks ago. This particular designer is one that honestly knows what they are doing for the fall, this look is incredible!

I love everything about it, from the hood all the way down to the colors that A.F. Vandevorst picked. The fact that capes and cloaks are very in right now has nothing to do with the talent that A.F. Vandevorst is exhibiting right here.

Ripped Up Jeans: They Are All The Rave!

It has to be said that ripped jeans seemed to be a thing of the nineties, but nowadays, they are all the rave on the runway! Whether you are looking at a pair of skinny jeans that are all ripped up or a pair of looser jeans, it doesn’t matter! Ripped jeans are definitely something that you will be seeing more and more of.

Personally, I think that ripped jeans kind of look terrible. They look sloppy and not all that great on anyone really, but when I saw these two pairs of jeans all ripped up – it actually looks kind of punk rock and I might actually be willing to give these type of jeans a try!

So if you are about to turn in your favorite pair of jeans because they have a few holes … don’t! You will be extremely fashionable and if anyone questions it – tell them it’s the trend this year!

Juli Grbac: If You Love Project Runway, You’ll Love This!

If there is one thing that I know about fashion buffs, it is the fact that they absolutely go head over heels for Project Runway. Not only do they love Project Runway, but you actually keep tabs on the past contestants that you liked right? Well, I did and that is when I ran across Juli Grbac – remember? Oh and I have to tell you that the newest Juli Grbac collection is absolutely impeccable.

Juli Grbac makes clothing for the woman and they really know how to make it hug all of the right places! Everything about this runway show was glamorous and totally slick and chic. Everything was iced in pearls and I swear that you will see every single thing on the red carpet soon enough!

So remember — Juli Grbac is the designer and the collection is brand freakin’ new and it rocks!

Anna & Boy: This Lingerie Collection Kicks Butt!

Whenever I know that I am going to a lingerie show, I really have to mentally prepare myself to know that it is going to suck. Usually, I hate lingerie runway shows but Anna & Boy really outdid themselves with this lingerie. It was fun, quirky, flirty and totally incredible looking on the models! The lingerie itself was amazingly styled and I think that all in all, Anna & Boy did a fantastic job putting on this particular show!

While lingerie was not the only thing that they showed, they actually showed all sorts of swimwear as well – like this piece. The colors were incredible and there were really a ton of pieces that I would actually wear … which is absolutely amazing. This piece in particular is one of my favorites and the thing I love about Anna & Boy is that you are getting quality … always!

So take a chance and get yourself some Anna & Boy, you’ll love it!

Karla Spetic: This Show Was Awesome!

I would definitely have to say that Karla Spetic’s show was incredible, impeccable and just all around fantastic to be at. Whenever you sit down on a seat that is absolutely covered in rose petals, you just know that it is going to be an extremely romantic show and I love that! Karla’s show was filled with all sorts of different and soft colors and that is one thing that I absolutely love about her.

While other designers are going bolder, she is actually hanging back a bit and she is doing naïve landscape prints and a lot of pastels that look absolutely incredible on the models. There were a ton of different jackets there, a lot of them with lapels, some beautiful twisted details and quite a bit of lace in her dresses.

All in all, I think that Karla did a fantastic job and she really, really threw her heart in there. So congrats! I had fun!

Givenchy Spring/Summer 2009

It’s different than a lot of Givenchy stuff we’ve seen before, so that’s good. I’m not sure about the leather pants, I’m not sure about some of the denim (and the combo, jeezes, never ever combine leather and denim, never!), but I’m loving most of the rest of this collection.

OmniaLuo Fashion Spring/Summer 2009 – NYC

A great colorful show from NYC by Chinese label OmniaLuo. I’m very very very impressed with their use of superdelicate materials. Overall a great collection, very much worth a special spot on Catwalk Report right before Christmas!

How can you not be in love? ^^

John Galliano Resort 2009

This must be the most impressive John Galliano collection in years. An extremely wearable and feminine line of bold and colorful fashion screaming out “JOHN GALLIANO IS HOT!”. Damn right John Galliano is hot — and he’s superhot when he’s back to doing stuff like this…

The line reminds me a lot of his classic ’05 and ’06 collections, and the whole layer-look works great. FABFAB!

John Galliano is on the roll — I loved his latest John Galliano Lingerie too!

Vera Wang Resort 2009 Fashion

Emilio Pucci F/W 08.09 Fashion

I never have been a big Emilio Pucci fan, seeing as bold colors and Mondriaan-esque designs are not really my idea of a feminine and pretty outfit — but I can see the impact Pucci has and will continue to have on fashion in general — even if I don’t like it too much.

This Fall/Winter 08-09 collection is a little less bold than we’re used to see — and is actually somewhat pretty. I’m undecided. Pics thanks to blog-tique.com and Yahoo!
